Whether the customer is interested in modifying an existing website or developing a new one, the work process is as follows:

Cost / Needs Assessment

As part of the initial free consultation and job quote, we will work with the customer to:

•   Identify web strategy and areas for visitor focus
•   Assess established identity
•   Discuss extent of desired web presence
•   Collect and review existing company literature & graphics
•   Outline proposed framework for the new site

A website planning worksheet (printable or online version) is used to aid in this assessment process. If the customer accepts the proposal, a payment of $250 will be required to proceed. The duration of a typical project is one to three weeks.

Project Definition

It is expected that a couple of meetings will follow the proposal acceptance benchmark. These sessions will contain discussions regarding:

•   Color and layout schemes
•   Customer submitted textual content
•   Specification of project scope and schedule
•   Cost breakdown and payment benchmarks

Project Implementation

This phase includes the actual creation of the artwork and program code. Our philosophy is to deliver clear, intuitive layout that will work well using a low bandwidth modem and mature browser. During this process, we will strive to:

•   Post the site for continual customer review and feedback
•   Provide regular updates of progress to schedule
•   Ensure the site functions with a variety of browsers

Note: Glitzy affects would be subtle and used sparingly. Where appropriate, we can offer dynamic content -- logos with subtle animation, pull-down menus, brief sound or verbal intros, random page content or sequencing banners, plant tours, or slide shows. Most of these "flashy" affects can be implemented using JavaScript, the basic scripting language embedded in recent browsers.

Project Approval

After the site is configured and operational a final meeting will occur to establish acceptance of the completed website and deliver copies of the website content on CDs. The remainder of the project payment will be expected within 30 days after acceptance.

If the customer has content (such as newsletters) that change at regular intervals (monthly or quarterly), the customer may choose at this juncture to maintain the site himself or pay a maintenance / support fee. This fee would be worked out based on an estimate of the number of hours or pages edited on a regular basis.
